Cognito Motorsports Can-Am Maverick R Rear Sway Bar Kit
The Maverick R comes with a rear sway bar that is hollow, and will typically fail by cracking, then bending, then breaking in half after a certain amount of cycles or abuse which may also be related to a car that has added weight. We believe Can-Am made the bar hollow trying to build the lightest car possible, unfortunately for an off-road car like this, a sway bar made of thin wall tubing is not conducive to longevity.
The Maverick R also tends to have an excessive amount of body roll, which can cause the car to react slower when turning and changing directions due to the body rolling excessively. Testing with the Cognito sway bar resulted in less ‘diving’ of the chassis in turns, reacting quicker in turns and reacting quicker when changing directions in turns. The Cognito sway bar has 2 stiffness settings; the mounting holes at the end of the sway bar provide a 17% stiffer bar, and the inboard mounting holes a 27% stiffer bar for cars that are heavier from adding accessories such as a spare tire.
