SpeedStrap Add's 3 New Recovery Strap Options To Their Line Up
SpeedStrap has been a leader in the recovery strap segment with their unique SuperStrap Weavable Recovery Straps for as long as we can remember. With this still being a great option in the recovery space they added to the current 1/2" and 1" options Speedstrap is reintroducing the Big Daddy 2" Weavable Strap in 20', 30' and 50' options.
2″ Big Daddy Weavable Recovery Strap
This 2″ weavable recovery strap is rated at 14,000 lbs breaking strength. With its unique design, you create an loop at both ends by simply weaving it through itself for a metal-free recovery strap. Just wrap, weave and pull. When you’re done, unweave and store for next time. The unique construction is what gives the Big Daddy it’s strength. Rather than being sewn together, all the fibers are actually interwoven down the whole length of the strap. This allows the Big Daddy to pull up to 14,000lbs, while still being small enough size to fit under the seat or in a small storage compartment. The weaveable design also means that you can wrap it around almost anything – No need to use metal shackles or tie a knots that will never come loose.

SpeedStrap Kinetic Recovery Ropes
What we also know is that as time has progressed a new style, or optional approach to the traditional strap, has become increasingly popular for snatching stuck vehicles, the Kinetic Rope. SpeedStrap has been assessing the right approach into the Kinetic Rope space and they are proud to release their first 2 options with the 30ft Big and Lil Mama Kinetic snatch / tow ropes.
Traditional tow straps are supposed to
be used by getting the strap tight first, and then pulling hard to get
the vehicle unstuck. But as we know from actual use out on the trails,
that doesn’t always provide enough force (or energy) to actually get a
vehicle out when its stuck down deep or in tricky spot. Having the tow
vehicle get a running start before they pull makes it easier by adding
that extra energy from the vehicles momentum (aka kinetic energy). With
the traditional ropes, however, getting a running start can be
dangerous. Single braid style ropes and straps are not designed for this
and take all of their force at once. So when the tow vehicle is getting
a running start and the strap eventually runs out of slack – it ‘snaps’
hard and all that energy is transferred to the stuck vehicle in one big
shock. If you’re lucky – that will pull the vehicle
free. But that hard snap puts a lot of shock on the tow points and frame
of both vehicles, and can cause damage. If you’re
NOT lucky – all that force being put on the strap at once is going cause
it to literally snap, break, and then fly back towards both vehicles
with a ton of force.
The SpeedStrap Lil Mama and Big Mama Kinetic Tow Ropes are the ultimate way to recover your UTV, Jeep, Truck, or Buggy. Unlike traditional tow ropes where you need to get the rope tight before you pull, a kinetic rope’s design allows you to get a running start with the recovery vehicle, and use the extra kinetic energy to pull it free. SpeedStrap’s design uses double braided nylon rope with an inner core and outer cover, that creates two stages of tension that puts less shock load on the vehicles, while still pulling them free. While pulling, the rope stretches and builds up kinetic energy. Once the rope reaches it maximum stretch, it snatches back and releases that energy to pull the stuck vehicle out of the mud, sand, or snow.
Speedstrap’s Kinetic Tow Ropes are made to last. With a Water, UV, and Abrasion resistant coating to help your rope maintain its life even in the harsh off-road environment. The ropes also feature a built in black tracer in the webbing – that reflects light at night for high visibility. Both ends have a protective sheath around the hook up points to prevent abrasion.
