Assault Industries Steering Wheel Upgrades

Assault Industries Steering Wheel Upgrades

Steering wheels are one of the most common UTV upgrades out there! Here are the things you will need when changing out your factory steering wheel...

STEP 1 - HUB REPLACEMENT

The Assault Industries steering wheel hub is the core of a proper steering wheel upgrade, and is a "must have" in this process. CNC machined from a solid chunk of 6061 T6 aircraft grade billet aluminum, the hub proves to be a robust upgrade from the OEM setup. The hub is hard anodized black, finished with a laser engraved Assault Industries logo, and is designed for use with 6-bolt Assault Steering Wheels and quick release adapters.

STEP 2 - QUICK RELEASE & ACCESSORIES

After the hub is mounted to the steering column/shaft, it's time to add the OPTIONAL Assault Industries Quick Release kit. This part allows the steering wheel to quickly detach from the hub for easy entry/exit from the vehicle. An added benefit of the quick release kit is that it serves as a low-cost theft deterrent, as the vehicle essentially becomes inoperable without the presence of a wheel to steer it. One final "bonus" of this add-on is that it can add length to the steering wheel assembly, bringing the wheel closer to the driver than it'd be without it. This comes in handy for some of our shorter UTV pilots out there!

At this point, additional upgrades like Assault's Push-To-Talk mounting plates can also be installed.

STEP 3 - PICK A WHEEL!

The final step in this process is to pick a wheel that suits your style and desired ergonomics inside the car. Assault offers several wheel styles, and these have different diameters & "offsets" that will bring a different driving dynamic depending on the combination of parts you put together. Be sure to keep an eye on these dimensions to arrive at a setup that works best for you!
